I was born in Itabaiana in 1966 (Paraíba, Brazil). Currently, I am a Full Professor of Social Psychology (at Federal University of Paraíba, UFPB) and a Senior Researcher (1A Level; at National Council of Scientific and Technological Development, CNPq), both in Brazil. I have published about one hundred of papers, chapters, and books in Brazil and abroad (http://lattes.cnpq.br/6960379064948678). In past decade, my colleagues and I proposed the Functional Theory of Human Values, which represents a contribution to social psychology, specially to the theme of human values. My main research interests focus on human values, personality traits, individualism-collectivism, anti and prosocial behaviors, and cross-cultural psychology. Nowdays, our studies are carried out in the Experimental Social Psychology Laboratory, having financial support of CNPq.
